One of the best parts of being a photographer is getting to meet amazing people from all over the country. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Kailyn and her fiancé, who traveled all the way from Ohio to celebrate this exciting chapter of their lives here in beautiful Sanibel Island, Florida.

From the moment we met, they made the session feel effortless. They were kind, easygoing, and genuinely excited to be there. Their chemistry was so natural that capturing authentic moments between them felt incredibly easy. They spent the entire session laughing, talking, and simply enjoying each other's company.

And here's a funny story...

Believe it or not, After our session they actually got a parking ticket! 😅 Most people would probably let something like that ruin their mood, but not these two. They laughed it off, stayed positive, and didn't let it take away from what mattered most—celebrating their engagement together. Honestly, I admired that. Life happens, but the best memories come from choosing joy anyway.

Sanibel Island gave us everything we could ask for: beautiful soft light, peaceful beaches, warm ocean breezes, and one of those incredible Florida sunsets that never disappoint. It was the perfect backdrop to tell their story.

A Tip for Couples Planning an Engagement Session

If you're planning your own engagement session, here's one piece of advice:

Don't focus on posing perfectly. Focus on each other.

Some of the best photos happen in between poses—the genuine laughs, the little glances, the hugs, and the conversations that naturally happen when you're comfortable together. Those are the moments you'll treasure years from now.

Another tip is to arrive a little early, relax, and enjoy the experience. Your engagement session isn't just about taking photos—it's about creating memories together before your wedding day.
